Reporting a problem
Tell us what you were trying to do, what happened, your browser and device, and whether the issue affects one PDF or several. Include any error message. Remove private information from screenshots and avoid sending sensitive documents.
Common questions
Can I change the original text?
Type PDF adds new text and shapes over the page. It does not directly rewrite existing PDF text. Covering text with a shape does not securely remove it.
Where is my saved work?
Use the same browser and device, return to the start screen, and select Resume if a draft is available. Opening another PDF replaces that draft. Download a copy to keep your work.
How do I delete a saved draft?
Return to the start screen and select Discard in the saved-work notice. You can also clear this website’s data in your browser settings to remove drafts and preferences. Download anything you want to keep first.
Why won’t my PDF open?
Password-protected PDFs require an unlocked copy. A damaged or unsupported PDF may also fail to open. Try another file to see whether the problem is specific to that document.
Which download option should I choose?
Choose Editable PDF to preserve editing options in supported readers and when reopening in Type PDF. Choose Flattened PDF to fix additions into the page appearance. Flattening is not a security feature. Check either download before using it.
Does Type PDF upload my document?
The editor processes your PDF on your device and saves a draft in your browser. The website still makes requests for hosting and fonts. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
